Rolled Hem Overlocker tutorial

I have been a little busy lately finishing off some lovely chiffon dresses for a special client (photos coming soon) but posted a little video clip on Instagram showing the hem being rolled using my overlocker. A tiny rolled hem in sheer/light fabrics is beautiful and doing them on the overlocker is pure joy. I had loads of requests for me to make a tutorial so here it is.

I have also mentioned in the video a link to download a free Overlocker Sample Sheet I created. You can use it to record what settings you used for different fabrics and seams; a useful aide-memoir for later sewing sessions.

Until next time……..Happy Sewing!

  1. I’m really enjoying your tutorials and I’m much more confident with my overlocker now thanks to your super clear teaching. Having just completed tutorial number three I’m feeling particularly proud of myself, looking at my beautiful rolled hems! Thank you so much for taking the time to make the videos.

  2. Thanks!

I don’t think my serger is that advanced. I don’t have the thing you put on the top and I don’t have the other switch either.

  3. I have just purchased a machine and your tutorials have really brought the machine to life for me. The Book was so overwhelming at first but using my book and your tutorials as support, I am up and running 🙂 Thankyou.

  4. I’ve found your two video’s regarding the overlocker extremely helpful. Thank you so much for making these. I’m struggling to find the one regarding tension problems, as you’ve guessed it I’m still trying to resolve mine. In tears and had enough and really struggling to get this correct. Can you point me in the right direction please.
